more information about us

Our association was formed as a direct result of adult education classes which were held in Gillingham and Hempstead for 2 winters i.e. 1980/1. The tutor suggested it would be a good idea to carry on the learning process as a self-help group. It started off in a church hall initially but carried on for a year or so in various members homes. We have had different venues over the years but our aims remain the same - to enjoy our crafts and continue to improve and help each other .
Spinning and dying and weaving leads to other similar hobbies such as knitting, crotcheting, felting, tatting etc. etc. and if anyone in our group learns something new we invariably have an evening so that we can all have a go. Occasionally, we hold Saturday workshops.

We are happy to do demonstrations at fetes and you will find us at the Dickens Festival in Rochester. We are also keen to visit schools.

Our annual subscription is: £16.00 Guests can come along for a couple of evenings for £1.00 per evening Tea or Coffee is provided free of charge
Over the years we have enjoyed some lovely outings, and also spinning bees in each others homes.
